Calton Hill - Calton Hill is one of Edinburgh's most iconic landmarks and offers arguably the most amazing panoramic views in Scotland. A short walk from the city centre, the hill is home to a collection of monuments, including the unfinished National Monument, modelled on the Parthenon in Athens and affectionately nicknamed "Edinburgh's Disgrace" and the Nelson Monument, built to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Calton Hill is a favourite spot, particularly at sunrise and sunset.
